9 Handpeeled, kiln dried, northern white cedar log furniture logs.  1-2.5 inch diameters,
12 inches long.
Unsanded, unfinished.  These logs are clean peeled and perfect for  variety of logs furniture projects.  Unlike skip peeled pine, handpeeled white cedar accepts stain very well and looks great natural or stained.  The natural decay resistance of cedar is legendary, so it is the choice of conscientious builders for outdoor railings or furniture.  A cleaner, straighter look than pine, handpeeled cedar is often used for rustic and classic building styles.
We have received numerous requests from customers who have purchased tenon cutters from us(see our Ebay store) for a raw log supply.  We are now offering the same logs that we use in our furniture for sale.  These trees are selected and cut from a forestry management tract.  The logs are harvested to improve the quality of the remaining trees.  They are then manually handpeeled with drawknives.  Each different worker combines their peeling style with the individual characteristics of the tree to make each log unique.  The logs are then stacked in a kiln where heated air(solar in the summer, wood furnace in the winter) is circulated through the layered stack.  Water is removed through venting and condensers.  When the moisture content is 15-18% the logs are considered stabilized and moved from the kiln to our bulk wood storage building.  They are restacked and room temperature air is circulated through them until the finished moisture content is 8-12%.  The drying process produces ‘checks’ or ‘cracks’ in all round log material.  This is normal and will not continue once stabilization is achieved.  They are now ready to be used in beautiful and functional log furniture.  This bundle of logs weighs approximately 50 lbs.

We have a wide variety of logs on hand at all times ranging from 1″-30″ diameters and lengths up to 40′.  We also carry cedar logs in diameters of 1-8″ and lengths up to 16′.  Our sawmill can cut slabs or beams from any log(ours or yours).  We stock many beams and slabs of pine and red cedar already dried and ready to use.  Please know that any slabs we custom cut from a green log can take up to 3 months or more to dry down completely.  Make sure to plan ahead!  Contact us for pricing and availability.
